Tale: Bear makes Shirt-Tale Bears out of old shirts, and has developed a pillow pattern for the shirts, jackets, or coats that have a customization on them that is too large to capture adequately on a bear. The FFA (Future Farmers of America) Jacket is a good example of a garment meeting this description. The design doesn't all fit on a bear well, so this began as an alternative product for folks requesting their own bears made out of coats that formerly belonged to a loved one, such as a grandfather, father, daughter, or son. The personalization of using a favorite coat belonging to the missing loved one made the significance of the pillow even more special, and serves as a great comfort to those who no longer have their loved one with them. Also, the pillow can make a great gift to the person who previously wore the coat and is still living. It's a nice way to make use of a garment that has been outgrown. Each pillow has a tale to tell, and thus the name, Coat-Tale Pillows.

Description: Bear's Coat-Tale Pillows are each hand-made by Bear herself, using your favorite adult-size coat, jacket, vest, or shirt as a covering fabric. The sleeve length makes no difference, but the coat should be of a fabric such as corduroy, denim, or leather. Email Bear to ask about using other fabrics. Other than the coat, each pillow is constructed with all new materials, including fiber fill and pillow inner cover.

A little about Bear:

Married for 30 years and the mother of three grown children, Bear took up motorcycling seriously in 2001 with her husband. Years of sewing for family and crafts provided the background to begin creating doo-rags just for fun. As the demand for doo-rags increased, "ThayerRags" custom doo-rags were born, beginning a small business of providing doo-rags for individuals by order.
