Old-time fabric store charm & hospitality, just like you remember from years ago. Formerly the Spinning Wheel Fabric Center for 30 years, we have those hard-to-find items no longer available in most stores. It is 1700 square feet of vintage and current fabric, sewing, quilting, & craft supplies!

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 6th Annual "Quilter's Day" Quilt Show hosted at the Pioneer Townsite in Frederick, OK! Our weather was beautiful and there were 95 quilt items brought in for display. There were quilters doing machine and hand sewing during the event again this year, and while there were fewer visitors than expected, everyone enjoyed watching the action! We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves, and appreciate the wonderful comments that we received from the attendees. We were glad to be able to provide the event for our area Quilters. Our special thanks to our volunteers for their work in making the event happen. This event is truly "put on by Quilters for Quilters"! Plans are already underway for the 7th Annual Quilter's Day the fourth Saturday of October next year! ThayerRags Fabric Center |

   Museum Building Display You can see most of these additional Historical Quilts on permanent display at the Tillman County Historical Society's Pioneer Townsite Museum Complex during normal visiting hours year-around. Please stop by and visit. 
 Farmhouse Display An event repeated at this year's Quilter's Day, was an old-fashioned "Bed Turning". A method of showing quilts layered on a bed, and turning the quilts one at a time to view and describe them. The pink and green quilt shown below is made out of dyed tobacco sacks. The Farmhouse Bedroom was the perfect place for such an event!

"T-Rag" - our self-propelled sewing machine cabinet! The 2010 Christmas Parade was the first time that "T-Rag" got to run "under the lights". The parade was run at dark this year. We had a malfunction of two strings of battery-powered lights, but otherwise, everything went just fine. T-Rag gained some new fans that hadn't seen him before, and everyone seemed to enjoy watching him. It was great fun, and we look forward to doing it again. ThayerRags Fabric Center |

Even though our weather was cloudy, rainy, and windy, there were 60 quilt items brought in for display. There were quilters doing machine and hand sewing during the event this year again, and the few visitors really enjoyed watching the action again! We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves, and appreciate the wonderful comments that we received from the attendees. We were glad to be able to provide the event for our area Quilters. | September 18, 2010 | Arts n' Action Art & Craft Show |
We had a small booth at the 2010 Arts n' Action Art & Craft show, again featuring our line of ThayerRags™ products. We don't do many outdoor booths, and we spent the day wrestling with the little wind gusts that tend to turn microwave potato bags and Scrunchies in small parachutes blowing everywhere. The doo-rag spinner went over once, spilling most of its contents, and then promptly got staked down. Still, we enjoyed the day visiting with the people that stopped by our booth. We took one of our vintage sewing machines along with us to play with while in the booth. It's a 1958 Singer 185K machine that we've converted to handcrank operation. We made quilt blocks with it that will eventually go into an "Event Quilt" that we're working on. The friendship-style quilt will be made entirely of blocks sewn at event booths that we've had over the years, and sewn mostly on handcrank machines. ThayerRags Fabric Center |

| September 9-11, 2010 | Tillman County Free Fair |
We had a small booth at the 2010 Tillman County Free Fair featuring our line of ThayerRags™ products. The products are all made by us (mostly by Marlene) right here in Frederick Oklahoma, and sold exclusively by us. We also had a supply of SewHappy Bows, hand-made hair bows made and sold by our daughter Jennifer. We enjoyed taking vintage sewing machines along with us to play with while in the booth. This time, we made "Scrunchies" (hair bands) on a couple of old Singer handcrank machines. We had a great time at the Fair, even though it was hot (up to 97 degrees in our booth). But, you can generally count on the Fair being either hot or wet (rainy), and we'll take the hot. ThayerRags Fabric Center |

| December 12, 2009 | Frederick, Oklahoma Christmas Parade |
"T-Rag" - our self-propelled sewing machine cabinet! The 2009 Christmas Parade was the second event for our little contraption. Sporting his new signs and Christmas decorations, T-Rag performed just fine again. This parade was shorter and slower, which was a plus, but there wasn't any time that the progression stopped, so T-Rag could only spin in a circle every once in a while on the run. Comments and reactions from the parade viewers indicated that T-Rag was entertaining to most viewers. It was great fun, and we look forward to doing it again. ThayerRags Fabric Center |

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 4th Annual "Quilter's Day" Quilt Show hosted at the Pioneer Townsite in Frederick, OK! There were 86 quilt items brought in, including a tote bag decorated with fabric trimmings held in place with tulle & thread (no glue). A very creative idea! There were several quilters doing machine and hand sewing during the event this year, and the visitors really enjoyed watching the action again! The weather was cool in the morning, and a little breezy in the afternoon, but nice. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves, and appreciate the wonderful comments that we received from the attendees. We were glad to be able to provide the event for our area Quilters. | September 25, 2009 | Frederick, Oklahoma Homecoming Parade |
Introducing "T-Rag", our self-propelled sewing machine cabinet! The 2009 Homecoming Parade was the first event for our little contraption, and T-Rag performed just fine. The only problem was that the parade had a "stop and start" type of pace, as many do that make stops to entertain groups of onlookers. The stops were great fun! T-Rag could spin in circles, back up, and have a good time showing off. But then, when the parade began moving again, the pace was faster than T-Rag could go. Still, it was great fun, and we look forward to doing it again. ThayerRags Fabric Center |

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 3rd Annual "Quilter's Day" Quilt Show hosted at the Pioneer Townsite in Frederick, OK! There were 77 completed quilts, quilt tops, and quilted items brought in, plus one "sleeping chicken" (Linda's cute little fabric chicken). A new feature this year, was the ladies doing machine and hand sewing during the event. Visitors really enjoyed watching the action! The weather was beautiful, making it a very enjoyable and relaxing event. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves, and appreciate the wonderful comments that we received from the attendees. We were glad to be able to provide the event for our area Quilters. Our special thanks to our volunteers for their work in making the event happen. While we've been in several parades through the years on horses or motorcycles, this was our first parade in which we entered a "float". As you can see, we didn't put much effort into it (or as much as we could have), but we were there. And considering the weather was blowing snow, 32 degrees, and with a 20 mph wind, it's a wonder we were there at all. But, you can't take the fun out of a parade with just a little bad weather, and we had fun doing it. We hope to have more parade entries in the coming years. ThayerRags Fabric Center |
